UvA Matching

UvA Matching is part of the application process for a non-selective Bachelor’s programme. The prospective student can get to know a programme and the educational system before completing the admissions process. This increases the chance that a student will successfully complete his or her chosen programme.

During UvA Matching, students who are completing their prior education in the Netherlands will attend lectures, read course material, do home study and finalise the Matching with a test. International students will take part in a combination of online activities, such as lectures, assignments and reading materials, followed by a test or questionnaire.

Students will then receive personal advice on the basis of their test results. These results help students determine whether a Bachelor’s programme matches their interests and capabilities and whether they have the motivation and study skills to start the programme.

If students decide not to opt for the relevant degree programme after UvA Matching, UvA student counsellors can help student with a reorientation procedure.
